WHAT IS IT?
Our flow restrictor, crafted from food-grade materials, enables seamless connections and disconnections without the need for additional tools. Its primary function is to maximize RO water production while minimizing wastewater. By creating back pressure on the drain line, it facilitates efficient water passage through the membrane, maintaining cleanliness. Compatible with standard OD 1/4" Copper, CPVC, PEX, and PVC tubing, it fits most RO systems.

WHERE TO USE IT?
Ideal for RO systems, beverage dispensers, refrigerator ice makers, and coffee machines, this quick-connect fitting is designed for the wastewater line to regulate flow and keep membranes clean. It balances the brine solution and ensures adequate back pressure for effective filtration. Perfect for system upgrades due to increased usage, it simplifies water filter installation, alleviating common headaches.

HOW TO USE IT?
To install, locate the drain line connected to your sink and splice in the flow restrictor, following the directional arrow. To remove, press the outer circle ends and pull out. For optimal results, match the membrane flow rating with the restrictor. Ensure tubing is cut squarely to prevent leaks, and insert it straight and fully into the connector. Misalignment or crimping may cause leaks.

FAQ
Q: Is a single 400GPD system superior to using two 200GPD systems?
A: The 200GPD system prevails due to reduced glue use during production, superior salt rejection, and enhanced water flow rates.
Q: When should membrane elements be cleaned?
A: It's crucial to clean the membrane elements under the following circumstances:
A reduction of 10-15% in normalized permeate flow is observed.
The normalized permeate total dissolved solids (TDS) increase by 10-15%.
An increase of 10-15% in the normalized pressure drop between feed and reject is detected.
Q: What are the steps to resolve RO membrane blockage?
A: 1. Begin by verifying if the home RO System's membrane is genuinely blocked.
2. Assess the regional water quality to determine if scale is primarily formed from calcium and magnesium salts.
3. Prepare a cleaning solution based on the scale's composition, using a 10% hydrochloric acid solution, diluted descaling detergent, or a specialized RO membrane cleaning agent. Submerge the RO membrane in the solution for a 24-hour period.
4. After soaking, thoroughly rinse the RO membrane. Utilize ultrafiltration-produced water for the rinse, ensuring that only the wastewater outlet remains open while the pure water outlet is closed.
Q: Why does the RO membrane become blocked after just one to two months?
A: 1. The raw water may have a high salt content, leading to excessive scaling.
2. An excess of organic matter in the water can lead to fouling and blockage of the RO membrane.
3. The RO system's recovery rate may be too high.
4. The purifier may lack a flushing function, causing high-concentration brine to accumulate in the RO membrane shell over time.
